TD3 - jan 11 2009 Wall of Noise Thee Killing Floor Hickory NC
this show was just as frivolous as they come. we decided to set up as much amplification as we could for a sunday night noise show. we stacked thing up, patched it all, and ran it from a mixer. quite possibly the loudest show we have ever had at thee killing floor, louder even than us christmas. being outside the house was like being inside with earplugs. inside made your insides turn from the pressure. some morons didn't wear earplugs, and i am sure they suffered long-term, full bandwidth damage. the little ampeg combo went down at this show, mainly because i was pumping it full of square waves from a tone generator. sunday is the one night in the week the neighbors will call the curfew (bible belt!) so we had to be done before 11. it's amazing the recordings came out at all. i was running sound this evening (you really have to babysit a wall of amps) and recording, and i made sure the mic was far enough from the wall to not distort. because it was loud in there. did i say this already? just thinking about the whole thing makes me stupid.
there are six tracks. the listing:
2. intermission samba 1
4. intermission samba 2
5. a device designed to mimic the patient part 1
6. a device designed to mimic the patient part 2
cancer and ortho were solo acts - a man and his pile of crap as loud as possible. device was mostly mark with some help on the scrap heap from who knows who and a little bottom end flavoring from myself. intermission samba 1 and 2 were created by myself for reasons unknown. perhaps i thought the listener needed a break between noise blasts. maybe it was my attempt at being a smart ass. anyway, there they are.
